Waste Heat Recovery Systems with Isobaric Expansion Technology Using Pure and Mixed Working Fluids

نویسندگان

چکیده

Economic expedience of waste heat recovery systems (WHRS), especially for low temperature difference applications, is often questionable due to high capital investments and long pay-back periods. With a simple design, isobaric expansion (IE) machines could provide viable pathway utilizing otherwise unprofitable streams power generation particularly pumping liquids compression gases. Different engine configurations are presented discussed. A new method modeling calculation the IE process efficiency used on cycles with various pure mixed working fluids. Some interesting cases presented. It shown in this paper that simplest non-regenerative engines efficient at differences between source sink. The fluid can be very high, approaching Carnot pressure source/heat sink differences. Regeneration increase cycle some extent. Application fluids combination regeneration significantly range efficiencies much larger

Thermo-Economic Analysis of Zeotropic Mixtures and Pure Working Fluids in Organic Rankine Cycles for Waste Heat Recovery "2279

We present a thermo-economic analysis of an Organic Rankine Cycle (ORC) for waste heat recovery. A case study for a heat source temperature of 150 ̋C and a subcritical, saturated cycle is performed. As working fluids R245fa, isobutane, isopentane, and the mixture of isobutane and isopentane are considered. The minimal temperature difference in the evaporator and the condenser, as well as the mi...

Fully Fresh Air Air-conditioning System Equipped with Double Heat Pipe Based Heat Recovery Technology

The using of double heat pipe based heat exchanger (HPHX) in a conventional fully fresh air air-conditioning (AC) system was examined in the present study. The fabricated HPHXs were tested under the actual conditions and the measured data were used to study the performance of the existing AC system (System A) and AC system equipped with the double HPHX (System B) for a yearly operation through ...
